Marks blog #1 10/29/18
I intend to do a blog at least three times per week. I have mixed feelings about this as I am a private person when it comes to trapping activities. I have various reasons for this and perhaps they will reveal themselves through these blogs.

For the first 3.5 weeks I will have two trapping partners. This is new for me. I’ve always been a lone wolf. Yes I’ve had people accompany me many times. However these two guys are my partners for this period of time. It is a blessing as far as I’m concerned. My health has not been stellar the last year or two and this is remote country. I’ve always said I wouldn’t mind if my last day was on the trapline. However, I don’t want eagles or coyotes picking at me.

These two partners are expert trappers. They both have gray hair like me. I think it will be fun. As of today we have not met up. By the first of November we will have some traps in the ground.

One thing this adventure will reveal: Do canned foods, ketchup, mustard, etc. survive through two winters of bitter cold? These have been ion my unheated camper through two brutal winters. If they are reasonably eatable I will most certainly eat them. Some say I’ll eat anything. I don’t like wasting food. One of my proudest moments was when my son ate food from a garbage barrel at the state fair.

From trappers camp.
